Q: How to set camera

To do so, call up the AutoCAD function Camera.

Before calling the function, change to top view.

After calling the function, you have to define the camera location with the help pf the mouse first. In this example click as far as possible in the lower right corner of the room. Next define the target position of the camera by dragging the mouse to the desired place.

After defining the target position, a list with the options appears. Confirm with ENTER and finish the insertion of the camera.

If you select the camera in the drawing again, a preview of the camera view appears.

In the preview you can see that the viewpoint and the focal point are not correct yet.

However, you can just set the camera properties by (with a selected camera) opening the context menu with a right mouse click and select the Properties there.

In the properties you can adjust the Z-Values of the Camera to influence the viewpoint and focal point for the rendering.

In the properties you can adjust the Z-Values of the Camera to influence the viewpoint and focal point for the rendering.

At the same time you can change the viewing angle by moving the camera via the equivalent grips

Adjust the camera position so that the complete kitchen can be seen in the preview and the vertical lines are displayed the least possible “sloped“.

The smaller the difference is between the values of “Camera Z” and “Target Z” the less the lines run "sloped”.

If the desired camera position has been defined, select the camera via a right mouse click and select in the context menu Set camera view. Thus the picture changes to the point of view of the camera and at the same time to the perspective.
